Sometimes, oldies can be goodies! In February 2006, BBC News reported an unusual Sudanese punishment for beastiality. While in the UK, there would be uproar of such an act, imprisonment and RSPCA action to stop the individual from possessing animals, they do it a bit differently in Sudan.
Mr Tombe, from Sudan, was forced to take a goat as his "wife", after he was caught having sex with the animal.
The goat's owner, Mr Alifi, said he surprised the man in coitus with his goat and took him to a council of elders.
Mr Tombe was ordered to pay a dowry of 15,000 Sudanese dinars ($50) to Mr Alifi.
The owner said: "We have given him the goat, and as far as we know they are still together."
Mr Alifi, of Hai Malakal in Upper Nile State, told Juba Post that upon hearing a loud noise around midnight on 13th February, he rushed outside to find Mr Tombe engaged in activity with his goat.
"When I asked him: 'What are you doing there?', he fell off the back of the goat, so I captured and tied him up."
Mr Alifi contacted the elders for advice on how to deal with the situation and they advised not involving the police.
Mr Alifi told the newspaper that the elders suggested he "let him pay a dowry for my goat because he used it as his wife."
I imagine it was one hell of a honeymoon night!
