Para-what?

Paraphila is an umbrella term used to cover the family of philias. In sexology, it is sometimes more widely used to cover atypical sexual interests or deviances. While the word paraphilia may seem alien, the philias it encompasses may seem slightly familiar. Think fetishes and unusual desires and you're on the right track!

Stick a needle in it...

Katie Price (aka) Jordan has confessed to a secret needlestick fetish. Appearing alongside her, husband Alex Reid told host Alan Carr of her urge to stick needles in his testicles.

Carr asked Katie, 32, whether she was attracted to pleasure and pain.

Reid replied: "She’s a freak! Let’s not talk about that. One of her kinky things is about sticking needles in my balls. She wants to stick needles in my balls!"

Katie explained: “It’s about trust, I just want to see how far he’d let me go.” And when asked whether she'd allow Alex to do something similar to her, Katie was adamant she would.

Needlestick fetishes are by no means rare, although they do sit at the higher end of the BDSM spectrum. For most, a light spanking or bondage will be more than enough. But, as we're all aware, vanilla sometimes isn't enough to satisfy a craving.

Anyone looking to explore this aspect of their sexuality would be best to strongly consider the health and safety aspects before engaging in any type of needle play.

Fallen Dark Angel has written a list of hints and advice that introduces beginners to needle play and covers areas of concern when partaking in this BDSM area.
